Your first visit
At your initial visit, you will meet Dr. Bonn for an interview. At that time, you will be able to discuss any concerns you may have. You may discuss prior dental experiences and any wants or wishes that may make your visits as enjoyable as possible. And you can discuss any goals or desires you may have about your dental health and smile.
When you establish this appointment over the phone, you will be directed to the portion of the website for you to complete registration forms and medical history. Please take the time to review and complete the documents thoroughly, including all medications you’re currently taking.
You should be able to print the documents from the page and fill them out accordingly. It is important to complete this information prior to your appointment so you can be thorough and you can be seen at your appointed time.
Once the interview is completed, you will tour the facility to become acquainted with the office. You will be directed to a treatment room where all required X-rays will be taken and a comprehensive clinical evaluation will be done.
A cancer screen is performed, followed by a TMJ assessment, a bite assessment, your periodontal health, and the condition of your teeth. Photography will be performed to document your present condition as well as assist in a restorative and smile evaluation.
Based upon the complexity of your case, you will either have your treatment plan presented to you at this visit or be scheduled for a future consultation to have the appropriate amount of time to discuss your case, what options you may have, and answer any questions at no additional cost.
We encourage regular checkups for individuals aged four and up. Most people find it is valuable to have a checkup at least every six months so Dr. Bonn can:
- Check for problems you might not see or feel
- Find early signs of decay
- Treat oral health problems early, while they are still manageable
Regular checkups include a thorough cleaning, polishing, and an oral exam by the doctor. During the oral exam, Dr. Bonn checks the health of your mouth, teeth, gums, cheeks, and tongue. At each visit, the doctor also checks old fillings and restorations, because constant pressure from chewing, grinding, or clenching can cause them to wear away, chip, or crack.
Regular checkup appointments typically take 30 to 60 minutes. Patients are seen by appointment only. We make every effort to be on time for our patients, and ask that you extend the same courtesy to us. If you cannot keep an appointment, please notify us immediately.
