Veneers are thin, porcelain shells created to cover the front sides of your teeth. They can improve the aesthetics of your smile by correcting chips and stains, eliminating gaps, and modifying misshapen teeth. Veneers should not stain or change color, and can withstand normal eating habits. Their strength and resilience makes them a great option to achieve a beautiful, confident smile.
Veneers with Dr. Bonn
During your initial veneer consultation at our Lake Mary dental office, you and Dr. Bonn will discuss your concerns with your smile and expectations of veneers. We then proceed with the clinical exam to determine if you are a good candidate for veneers. Certain issues such as tooth position, tooth structure, tooth color, and occlusion all play a role in the decision process.
We will take photographs of your smile to assist in the treatment planning as well. The use of photography in smile design and our smile assessment guidelines help to provide a realistic, predictable, and beautiful result.
If you and Dr. Bonn decide that veneers are right for you, your treatment will take three appointments. At the first appointment, molds are taken of the existing teeth to perform a pre-treatment wax-up or mock-up of your smile. At the second appointment, your teeth are conservatively prepared, impressions are taken, and temporaries are placed. You will get to see the shape and contours of the proposed veneers via the temporaries. Any changes to the shape and size of your veneers can be done so at this appointment. Molds are then made of the temporaries and sent to the lab to copy. This ensures a great deal of predictability in your result. Finally, you’ll return to our office where Dr. Bonn will remove the temporaries and permanently adhere your new veneers.
When you choose Dr. Bonn for your veneer treatment, you’re choosing a dentist with more than 30 years of experience in smile restoration, and who stays updated on the advancements in aesthetics, treatment modalities, and design. You can trust that your smile is in great hands!
